A perennial best-seller in the competitive 500 cc category, Honda knows a thing or two about what customers want in a mid-sized ATV. Complementing their extensive lineup of models with enclosed axle swingarm rear suspension, Honda has a full line of Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) models. While both groups effectively straddle the line between recreation and utility, the IRS models lean slightly more toward the trail-use end of the spectrum and come equipped with a number of comfort and convenience items aimed squarely at the recreational buyer. In addition to the IRS system with its plush, well-controlled 215 mm of travel, the series also features thicker, broader seats, a roomier riding position, a clever new reverse selection mechanism, innovative high comfort handgrips and aggressive tires. Increased rack and towing capacities, a locking front differential and increased alternator output will be appreciated by recreational and utility riders alike, and the Rubicons bodywork is sure to turn heads on the trail and on the job site. Two different versions of the manual transmission Independent Rear Suspension models are available so riders can select the one best-suited to their budget or taste.
The TRX500 Rubicon IRS variant features manual steering and a foot-shifted auto-clutch manual transmission for riders who prefer a more basic machine or for cost conscious fleet buyers. The TRX500 Rubicon Deluxe adds the luxury of electric power steering (EPS) and a unique styling package. The deluxe package includes lightweight aluminum wheels, red-painted shock springs, red-painted suspension arms and a unique black color scheme to complement the aggressive bodywork. Strong utility capability in a machine that is all-day comfortable out on the trails, the TRX500 Rubicon IRS series has you covered.
